Mr. Miao Wei, born in 1955, is native of Beijing, China. Starting his career in 1974, he became a member of Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1984. Currently, Mr. Miao is an on-job postgraduate student and Senior Engineer and Research Fellow.
Mr. Miao graduated with a B.S. in Combustion Engine from Hefei University of Technology in 1982. His previous positions include Deputy Manager of China Automobile Sales and Service Company, Deputy Production Manager of China National Automotive Industry Corporation, Deputy Chief of Department of Automobiles Industry and Assistant Chief Engineer in Ministry of Machinery Industry. In 1997 he was appointed as Secretary of CPC Leadership Group of Dongfeng Moter Corporation where he later served as General Manager and Secretary of Party Leadership Group in 1999. Then he assumed the posts of member of the Standing Committee of CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Party Leading Group of CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee in 2005. In 2008, he became the Vice Minister and Deputy Secretary of CPC Leadership Group of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and then was appointed as Minister and Secretary of Party Leadership Group of Industry and Information Technology at the end of 2010.
Mr. Miao was also the alternate member of the17th CPC Central Committee and is a member of the18th and 19th CPC Central Committee, as well as a member of the 10th and 11th NPC
