CEO, Zhaopin Group Business Circle
Evan Guo graduated with honors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a double bachelor’s degrees in both engineering and science. In 1999, he received his MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, becoming the first student from China to graduate with distinction in the history of Kellogg. In 1994, Evan was one of the first analysts McKinsey & Co. hired directly in China. He worked for seven years at McKinsey & Co. and was promoted to partner. While at McKinsey & Co., he helped several Chinese high-tech companies go public on Nasdaq. Before joining Zhaopin, Evan’s extensive experience also included working as an investment manager at Bear Stearns Investment Bank in New York, as CEO of Prosys Solutions, as CEO of Shanghai-listed Sinotrans Air Transportation Development Co., and as a director of DHL.
Evan joined Zhaopin in 2010 and took the company public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: ZPIN) on June 12, 2014. Since then, Zhaopin has been accelerating its strategic transformation. Evan initiated the concept of a “career development platform” to cover a job seeker’s entire career lifecycle. He has established a comprehensive career platform for job seekers at Zhaopin that serves graduates, white-collar workers and high-end professionals. The platform provides evaluation, online recruitment, and training services through online, offline and mobile channels. Zhaopin aims to transform from being “a resume database” to “accelerating career development” and building China’s leading Human Capital Ecosystem to provide end-to-end service for 160 million white-collar job seekers. In September 2017, Zhaopin announced the completion of a going private transaction.
