C.M. Capital Corporation (CMC) is a multi-asset and real estate investment
company based in Palo Alto, California. It was founded in 1969, initially
invested mainly in real estate, later added venture capital investing, and
expanded into other asset classes. It deploys a top down asset allocation
strategy combined with bottom up manager selection and direct investment
processes to construct and maintain a diversified and dynamic investment
portfolio. The portfolio consists of the full continuum of investable assets
from highly liquid cash and cash equivalent products to semiliquid hedge funds,
and illiquid private equities and real estate.
Being an investment arm closely affiliated with the Cha Group of companies
(the Cha Group), the CMC investment portfolio is more diversified geographically
and more opportunistic in making direct investments than a typical institutional
portfolio. CMC counts amongst its intangible assets its competent and
professional staff and distinguished investment advisory board members. Since
inception, it has consistently provided a positive return and has outperformed
all relevant benchmarks at lower volatilities.
The Cha Group is based in Hong Kong and was founded in 1949 as China Dyeing
Works by Mr. Cha Chi Ming, an innovative industrialist and entrepreneur. The
Group expanded into real estate since the 1970s, and into investing and
financial services since the late 1970s. Today, the Cha Group has business
operations spanning Asia, Europe, the US and Africa, involved in textiles,
manufacturing, real estate and financial services. CMC is affiliated with C.M.
Capital Advisors, LLC, and C M Capital Foundation, its investment advisory and
charitable arms, respectively.
