With global headquarters based in Vevey Switzerland, Nestlé was founded in 1866.  Nestlé is now the largest food and beverage company in the world, and is committed to nutrition, health and wellness.  The company has a diverse portfolio of products including dairy, infant formula, breakfast cereals, coffee, ice cream, chocolate, confectionery, bottled water, beverages, frozen food, culinary, health science and skin health.

China is the second largest market of the Nestlé Group. The Greater China Region home office is located in Beijing.  Across China, Nestlé operates 33 factories, five Innovation centers, a Nestlé Dairy Farming Institute in Shuangcheng of Heilongjiang Province, a Nescafé Coffee Center in Puer of Yunnan Province, a Nestlé Food Safety Institute in Beijing, four customer engagement centers and near 43,000 employees.

Nearly all major product categories that Nestlé sells elsewhere in the world are also available in China.  In addition, Nestlé provides consumers with quality products under such local brands as Totole, Yinlu, Hsu Fu Chi, Dashan and Haoji.

Different from many other food companies, Nestlé attaches great emphasis on developing agricultural raw materials locally.  The same model is applied to China as well.  For example, the milk district development in Shuangcheng of Heilongjiang Province, Erguna of Inner Mongolia and Laixi of Shandong Province, as well as coffee farming activities based in Puer of Yunnan Province have all been very successful and are highly recognized.
