The Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), established in 1989, is a government-funded economic research institute addressing the international economy and its relationship with Korea. KIEP has aimed to be a regional hub for international economic policy research, and has served as a warehouse of information on Korea’s international economic policies for nearly 30 years.As a government-funded research institute, we have accomplished critical research and in-depth analysis on international economic policy issues, in areas such as international macroeconomics, finance, trade and commerce, international investment, international financial cooperation, and regional studies for a variety of governmental agencies and research partners.

KIEP has an affiliate in Beijing, and also works in partnership with the Korea Economic Institute of America (KEI) located in Washington D.C. KIEP also operates National Center of APEC Studies from our institute.

KIEP continually strives to provide effective research reports on various international economic issues, and expanding cooperation has been an important part of these efforts. In addition to many joint projects, KIEP has formed many close partnerships with the world’s leading research institutes and has established a broad network with over 80 overseas institutions.
