Zhou Xianwang

Mayor of Wuhan Local Government

Zhou Xianwang, male, ethnic Tujia, native of Jianshi County, Hubei Province, born in November 1962. He is a CPC member and holds a university degree. Mr. Zhou began working in December 1980, successively held the post of Deputy Mayor of Jianshi County, Hubei Province; Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province; Deputy Secretary of the CPC Xuan’en County Committee and Mayor of Xuan’en County, Hubei Province; Deputy Mayor of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province (during April 1999 - November 1999 he took a temporary post as Deputy General Manager of Asset and Liability Management Department of the Head Office of Bank of China). From February 2003 to February 2008, Mr. Zhou took office as Deputy Secretary of the CPC Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Committee and Mayor of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province. From February 2008 to November 2012, Mr. Zhou held the post of Director General and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Department of Commerce of Hubei Province and Director General of Foreign Investment Affairs Office of Hubei Province. From November 2012 to March 2017, Mr. Zhou served as Secretary of the CPC Huangshi Municipal Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Huangshi Municipal People's Congress, Hubei Province. From March 2017 to April 2017, Mr. Zhou assumed the post of Vice Governor and Member of the Party Leadership Group of Hubei Provincial People's Government, Secretary of the CPC Huangshi Municipal Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Huangshi Municipal People's Congress. From April 2017 to May 2018, Mr. Zhou took the post of Vice Governor and Member of the Party Leadership Group of Hubei Provincial People’s Government. From May 2018 to September 2018, Mr. Zhou held the post of Deputy Secretary of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, Deputy Mayor and Acting Mayor of Wuhan Municipal People’s Government. Since September 2018, Mr. Zhou has been the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee, Mayor and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Wuhan Municipal People’s Government.
