CDF Voice | Kim Fausing, President and CEO of Danfoss

Hello everyone, I’m Kim Fausing, President and CEO of Danfoss. I’m delighted to participate in this year’s China Development Forum and contribute to this important dialogue between China and the global community.

Last year, the discussion topics like green transition brought together global leaders to share insights on China’s development. Today, these visions are already driving progress, unlocking market potentials, and accelerating sustainable growth.

One example is the ambitious 14th Five-Year Plan to retrofit 350 million m2 of existing buildings to make them more energy efficient by 2025. This bold initiative is creating tremendous opportunities for green solutions.

Now, China is transitioning towards a high-quality development model. To better unleash the momentum, we should take bold steps by accelerating industrial innovation and upgrades, nurturing sectors like data centers, semiconductors, and energy storage, and most importantly, embedding sustainability at the core of the development strategy. We see this as the opportunity of our time.

As a global leader in energy efficiency and electrification, we are committed to aligning our expertise with China’s priorities to help achieve competitive decarbonization, which holds the key to improve energy efficiency by reducing consumption, cost, and emissions, while enhancing competitive edge.

We believe competitive decarbonization will play a key role in China’s high-quality development. Over the years, we’ve been implementing the same approach in our factories and infrastructure as we bring to our customers.

With our three-step approach, which is “Reduce, Re-use, and Re-source”, we’ve built many carbon-neutral factories worldwide, including Danfoss Nanjing Campus, our first in China. With the same solutions, all our factories in China are expected to be carbon-neutral by the end of 2026.

Our competitive decarbonization approach shows a clear pathway for peers and industries. When adopted, it will make tremendous contributions to China’s high-quality development goals.

With continued investments, our newly upgraded Application Development Center in Suzhou, for example, we’re ready to capture the growth opportunities. Meanwhile, we’re proud to contribute to this mission with our expertise and working with our partners to translate policy visions to tangible results.

Thank you very much!
