China Development Forum 2021 to be held on March 20-22
The China Development Forum (CDF) 2021 will be held online and onsite at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing from 20th to 22nd March. The theme of this year's forum is'China on a New Journey of Modernisation'. The Chair of this year's CDF is Ma Jiantang, Secretary of the Leading Party Member's Group of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), and the Co-chair is Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management, BMW AG.
The China Development Forum is hosted by the DRC and organised by the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF). It has been held annually since 2000 for 21 consecutive sessions. The CDF is committed to'Engaging with the World for Common Prosperity'and is internationally known as a high-level forum serving as an important dialogue platform for senior officials of the Chinese government, global business leaders, international organisations and renowned scholars.
In 2021, a complete victory in the campaign against absolute poverty and major strategic achievements in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic were made. Now, China is entering the starting year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Lu Mai, Secretary General of the CDF, said that the 14th Five-Year Plan period marks the first five years for China as it embarks on a new journey to build a modern socialist country and achieve its second centenary goal. At present, China is still in an important period of strategic opportunities. And profound changes, both domestic and global, bring a series of new opportunities and challenges to China. Against this backdrop, CDF 2021 will feature new concept of high quality development and the new development pattern represented by the'dual circulation', discussing the directions of China's economic and social development of 2021 and the next five years, soliciting advice and recommendations on China's development, and elaborate on China's development blueprint, so as to consolidate the confidence of the international business community in achieving shared development with China.
One of the biggest feature of the CDF 2021 is a rich mixtures of format. 11 invitation-only sessions, 7 venues on its Economic Summit, and 40+ formal activities, in the form of plenary, closed-door roundtable, parallel sessions, and in-depth dialogue. Topics will be centered around 14th Five Year Plan, the new stage, new concepts, new patterns, China-U.S. relations, intellectual property protection, global public health, technological innovation, green transformation, rural revitalization and others. As of today, more than 130 overseas delegates have confirmed their participation to the CDF 2021, the largest number ever seen at its annual gathering.
