- Olivier Brandicourt

Olivier Brandicourt joined Sanofi in April 2015 as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining the Group, Olivier Brandicourt was Chief Executive Officer of Bayer Healthcare AG (2013-2015). From 2000 to 2013 he held a series of executive leadership positions at Pfizer, including President and General Manager of Global Primary Care and then President and General Manager of the Emerging Markets and Established Products business units.
He started his career as a Medical Director for the Africa Region at Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis, where he held other senior positions in medical and marketing before being appointed General Manager of Canada. He also spent eight years with the Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, with a focus on malaria research in West and Central Africa, and two years working in the Republic of Congo as a doctor.
Dr. Brandicourt studied medicine in Paris, where he specialized in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine (University of Paris V) and holds an Advanced Degree in Cellular and Immunological Pathophysiology (Descartes University). He also holds a Master’s Degree in Biology (University of Paris XII).
In addition to his responsibilities at Sanofi, Dr. Brandicourt is Chairman of the Board of Management of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), Vice-President of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), and an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London.
