Jae-Young Lee

President, Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) International Organizations and Other Institutions

Jae-young Lee, male, born in 1964, doctor of economics, currently President of Korea institute of foreign economic policy.


He is currently President of the Korea institute for foreign economic policy and President of the Korea Pacific economic cooperation council (KOPEC). In addition, he is also a member of the north economic cooperation committee directly under the President, a member of the policy advisory committee of the national security office of the Blue House, and a member of the advisory group of the preparation committee for the summit between the DPRK and the Republic of Korea.


He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in business from Hanyang university in South Korea and his doctorate in economics from Moscow state university in Russia. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University and Oxford University and served as the President of Korea Eurasian Society.


He is currently an academic member of the Valdai Club and an honorary professor at the Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of far Eastern Economics. He has published many papers and works on the economy and trade in northern Eurasia.
