Malcolm Clarke

Director and Writer; Academy Awards Winner International Organizations and Other Institutions

Four-time Academy Award nominee & Two-time Oscar Winner Director, Writer & Producer Mr. Clarke has been making films since the early 1980s, he regularly works as a studio 'script-doctor’ and is a visiting professor at UCLA Film School. Clarke has made films in more than 80 countries and his work has won awards from the DGA, WGA, DGC, Cable ACE, EMMY and the Grierson Prize from BAFTA.


In 2014 Clarke shifted his focus to China and is now involved in making China- related films that can have impact & influence in the rest of the world. His most recent theatrical documentary film ‘Better Angels’ will be released in the fall of 2018 by Global Road Entertainment. The film is a meditation on one possible future in the vexing, yet ever-evolving relationship between the world’s two great superpowers; the United States & China.


Clarke is currently preparing his next project; ‘A Day to Remember’; a love story set during the devastating Sichuan earthquake of 2010.
