new system for providing insurance based on door to door agents supported by
actuarial tables, sound investment and efficient administration.
In the 1920s Prudential began a great overseas expansion, and the first
overseas life agency was established in India in 1923. Prudential has since
started operations in the USA as Jackson, and in 2014 entered the fast-growing
African life insurance industry.
Prudential today is an international financial services group listed on stock
exchanges in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and New York. Prudential plc has
GBP664 billion of assets under management, and more than 26 million customers
worldwide.
Prudential Corporation Asia has leading insurance and asset management
operations across 14 markets. The life insurance business has over 15 million
customers, 600,000 agents, and multiple established bank partnerships. Our
asset management company, Eastspring Investments is present in 10 major Asian
markets, with distribution offices in US and Europe, and manages GBP138 billion
in assets on behalf of institutional and retail clients.
