【Wang Sangui】The Measures, Outcomes and Challenges of China's Targeted Poverty Alleviation

Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has attached great importance to poverty alleviation and development, focusing on building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, integrating poverty alleviation and development into the four-pronged comprehensive strategy, and accelerating poverty-stricken areas and the poor to shake off poverty and become fairly well-off. Through continuous innovation in the poverty alleviation system and mechanism in accordance with changes in China's macroeconomic situation and the experience and lessons learned from poverty alleviation and development, the model of poverty alleviation through local development is fundamentally changed, and targeted poverty reduction and alleviation becomes the basic strategy for China's poverty alleviation and development. At the end of 2017, the central government made targeted poverty alleviation one of the three major battles to be won in the coming three years. Winning the battle against poverty is of decisive significance for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
