Hiroaki Nakanishi

Chairman of the Board & Representative Executive Officer, Hitachi, Ltd. Business Circle

Hiroaki Nakanishi was born in March 1946. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tokyo and joined Hitachi, Ltd. in 1970. He obtained the master degree of Computer Engineering from Stanford University in 1979. In 1998, he was promoted as the Managing Director of Hitachi Europe, Ltd. In 2000, he joined the Information & Telecommunication Systems Group of Hitachi, Ltd., serving as the Group Executive and lately appointed as General Manager. From 2003 to 2010, he respectively held the position as Chief Executive for Europe, Hitachi, Ltd., Executive Officer and Chief Executive for North America of Hitachi, Ltd., and Chairman and CEO of Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Inc. In 2010, He was held the position of President of Hitachi, Ltd. From 2014, he took the position as Chairman and CEO of Hitachi, Ltd. Since 2016, he has been appointed as Executive Chairman.
