Charlie is Linklaters’ Chairman and Senior Partner, and one of Linklaters most high profile corporate partners. He focuses on public and private M&A and international capital raisings, as well as general commercial and boardroom advice. Charlie is a key boardroom adviser to many of Linklaters’ largest clients and chairs the Linklaters’ Partnership Board.

Notable experience in the last 24 months includes advising SABMiller on the US $108 billion takeover by AB InBev, Aquarius Platinum on its takeover by Sibanye Gold, Glencore on the £2.5billion sale of a 40% stake in its agricultural business and Terra Firma Capital Partners and Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management on the £3.2 billion disposal of Autobahn Tank & Rast.

As Senior Partner of a leading global law firm, Charlie is keen to ensure that Linklaters maintains its strong focus on China, where the firm has advised on some of the most complex inbound and outbound investments for over 40 years – establishing a track record for advising on more ‘firsts’ in China than any other firm.

Charlie is also a non-executive director of FTSE 100 Fresnillo PLC and FTSE 250 Investec PLC and Investec Limited.
