President, Japan-China Economic Association (JCEA) Other Organizations
Mr. IZAWA is currently a president of Japan-China Economic Association (since 2017).
He joined The Ministry of Economy, Trade and industry (METI) after graduating from University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law, in 1976. He also got Master degree from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in 1982. During his career in METI, he assumed several Director positions which include Director of Public Relations, Director of Nuclear Industry and Director of Oil Policy Planning. As for his international related responsibilities, he assumed posts such as Minister for trade and economic affairs in Embassy of Japan in Washington DC (2000-2002), Vice-President of JICA (2003-2007), President of JETRO (2007-2008) and Ambassador to Ukraine and Moldova (2008-2012).
After retiring the government, he worked for Chiyoda Corporation as Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President (2014=2017).
