China National Offshore Oil Corporation (“CNOOC”), the largest offshore oil & gas producer in China and the  third largest LNG importer in the world, is a mega state-owned company operating directly under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.


The Company was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Beijing. After 30 years of reform and development, CNOOC has become an international energy company with highlighted main industry, complete industrial chain, and assets covering 45 countries and regions on 6 continents. The Company has formed oil & gas exploration and development, engineering & technical services, refining and marketing, natural gas and power generation, financial services - five main business segments, and its sustainable development capacity has been significantly improved.


In 2017, the Company produced 75.51 million tons of crude oil, 25.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 8.78 million tons of refined oil, and 21.25 billion kWh electricity generation from natural gas. It also processed 35.92 million tons of crude oil and imported 20.46 million tons of LNG. The company's total assets arrived at 173.2 billion U.S. dollars at the end of 2017.
