Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd, now known as Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd (TMNF), is the flagship of the Tokio Marine Group. Founded in 1879, TMNF is the oldest general insurance company in Japan,  the first approved representative office (in 1980) of all foreign insurers as well as the pioneer Japanese insurer to establish business operations (in 1994)  in China. It has one representative office in Beijing, and one independent subsidiary in Shanghai with branch offices in Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Beijing and Zhejiang.
