The Maersk Group is an international conglomerate headquartered in Denmark with more than 88,000 employees and offices in 130 countries, providing services for container transportation, logistics, terminal operations and other activities related to shipping.


The Maersk Group was established in 1904, and has served China’s foreign trade over 90 years with nearly 123 offices and 11,000 employees in China.


Maersk Line, the world’s largest container carrier, is represented in 36 locations with vessel calls at all major ports in China every day.  Damco has achieved a leading position in the market with its sophisticated logistics solutions, running offices in 30 locations. APM Terminals, the world’s 3rd largest terminal operator, jointly owns and operates 11 terminals in China. Since late 1996, 144 large ocean-going vessels have been ordered from the Chinese shipyards at an accumulated value of USD 5billion. Other than vessel ordering, the Maersk Group's total purchase in China in 2016 was more than USD 3.5 billion.
