It was in 2002 that the Development Research Center of the State Council inaugurated the China Development Forum (CDF), aiming to build up a new platform for dialogues and communication between Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs, scholars and government officials. Designed to “hear the voice of the world and explore the path for China’s development”, CDF 2012 was held in March 20th-21st, 2011 in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Beijing.
This Forum selected “The Ongoing Transformation of China’s Growth Pattern” as its theme, and focused on many key topics, such as opening-up in a new era, fiscal policy and public finance reform, better social security system for a more efficient income distribution, strategic emerging industries for economic restructuring, the Twelfth Five-Year Plan and China’s changing economic growth pattern, and international cooperation at the new stage of economic globalization. Its dynamic and candid discussions in diversified forms have aroused great attention and repercussion both at home and abroad.
