Iwao Okamoto

Mr. Okamoto is now a president of Japan-China Economic Association from 2011. He joined The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) after received B.A. degree in Law from Tokyo University in 1970. He was a director of Basic Industries Bureau in 1999 and Manufacturing Industries Bureau in 2001, a director general of Agency for Natural Resourced and Energy in 2002, a director of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in 2003. He joined Sumitomo Corporation as a managing executive officer in 2005, and was a director, senior managing executive officer of Mineral Resourced and Energy unite in 2007; and he was an advisor of Sumitomo Corporation in 2009.
