Don Lindsay became President and CEO of Teck in 2005. Before joining Teck, he was President of CIBC World Markets and led their Investment and Corporate Banking Division as well as the Asia Pacific Region. Previously, he was responsible for CIBC’s Global Mining Group.
Don is a member of the Board of Directors of Manulife Financial Corporation and is Chair of the 2017 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference and was recently appointed Vice-Chair of the Business Council of Canada. Don is also Chair of the Board of Directors of B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation and led the successful $200-million campaign to build a new acute care hospital. As Chair of the International Zinc Association from 2007 to 2011, Don led the development and launch of the Zinc Saves Kids campaign, a partnership with UNICEF to address child zinc deficiency, and Teck’s Zinc & Health program, which to date has helped improve the health of more than 10 million children worldwide.
Don is a recipient of a British Columbia Community Achievement Award, CIM Distinguished Service Medal, Nature Trust of B.C. Conservation Champion Award, Business in Vancouver CEO Award, and was named to the Order of British Columbia.
Don holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) Mining Engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
