Bombardier is the world’s only manufacturer of both planes and trains. Bombardier Inc. is a global corporation headquartered inCanada. Its revenues for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2016, were $16.3 billion, and its shares are traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (BBD). Bombardier Transportation, a global leader in rail technology, offers the broadest portfolio in the rail industry and delivers innovative products and services that set new standards in sustainable mobility. BOMBARDIER ECO4 technologies – built on the four cornerstones of energy, efficiency, economy and ecology – conserve energy, protect the environment and help to improve total train performance. Bombardier Transportation is headquartered in Berlin, Germany and has a very diverse customer base with products or services in more than 60 countries. It has an installed base of over 100,000 vehicles worldwide. Since 1999, Bombardier joint ventures have delivered more than 3,500 high speed railway passenger cars, 560 freight electric locomotives and over 2,000 metro cars to China’s growing urban mass transit markets, all of which use Bombardier propulsion equipment. Bombardier propulsion equipment is also largely supplied to other third party metro car builders and are used in total 23 Chinese cities.


Bombardier is a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative products and services for the aircraft markets. It manufactures regional, business and amphibious aircraft, and provides associated services. In China, there are over 40 regional aircrafts and over 120 Bombardier business jets are currently in service.


In recent couple of years, Bombardier has made great progress in China, including the biggest subcontracting agreement in the Chinese aerospace industry for Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC), a subsidiary of China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC), to supply main parts of Q400 fuselage and a contract with SAC, as a risk-sharing supplier, to supply the centre fuselage on the newly launched Bombardier CSeries aircraft.


Currently, Bombardier has seven joint ventures and eight Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprises (WFOE) in China, plus four Representative Offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong respectively. Including its joint ventures as well as its Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprises, Bombardier currently has more than 6,000 employees in China.
